What it means to #BeLikeTommy
We are a non profit organization with a mission to create joy and belonging for youth in a generation where exclusion, cyberbullying, discrimination, and forms of anxiety and depression are prevalent. We make a difference in a child’s sense of belonging, mental health, and well-being.
We Create Joyful Experiences for Youth that Need it the Most.
BeLikeTommy Project creates unique, joyful experiences for youth ages 10-18 who have experienced hardship, especially those most vulnerable to exclusion and discrimination. Whether it’s a birthday party for a child or a day fishing on the lake, the BeLikeTommy Project discreetly provides all that is needed to make that joyful experience happen.
Where other organizations help provide staples such as food, clothing, and shelter; we provide joy!
Tommy was only 14 years old when he passed away from sudden cardiac arrest. But in the short amount of time he was with us, he made a difference to those around him by truly seeing people for who they are, offering a kind gesture or a hug when needed, and bringing a laugh through a silly dance or funny comment. We can all make a difference and continue the legacy Tommy started.
